Pubs aren’t just places to drink – they’re where our clubs meet, our teams gather, and our communities grow.

But pubs across the UK are at risk – and we need your help to show why they matter. Share your idea for a Instagram Reel you could create about your pub club and you could get £250 to make it happen.

The deadline for entries is the 27rd October.

From darts teams to dog meetups – if your club meets at the pub, tell us your story and you could get £250 to bring it to life.

FAQs for Local Voices Programme

About the programme

  • We’re looking for short, engaging videos that highlight the unique community feel of your local pub. This could be a glimpse into a club or group you’re part of (like a book club, darts team, or knit-and-natter circle), a special event you’ve celebrated there, or simply what makes your local such an important place for you and your community. We want to see real, authentic moments that show the heart and soul of your pub and why it matters.

  • Everyone can apply, no matter how many followers you have. Your account must be public and remain public for the period of the project.

  • Your content will be co-posted organically with the Long Live the Local Instagram account. Your content might be used on ads to help us encourage more people to support the Long Live the Local campaign.

  • A pitch should explain the video you want to create, what it will show, how it will be filmed, and why it will be great to watch. Think about what makes your local pub club special, and how you’ll bring that to life on social media.

    Here’s an example:

    • “I want to create a warm, funny Instagram Reel that follows my Tuesday night knitting club at my local pub. I’ll film us setting up, chatting over a pint, showing off our current projects, and toasting at the end. I’ll show how our pub is more than just a place for a drink, it’s where our friendships grew.”

  • You will need to co-post with the Long Live the Local Instagram account as well as invite your followers to sign-up to the Long Live the Local campaign in your caption. You will also need to disclose that the post is an ad by using #ad.

  • If selected, you’ll receive a £250 grant.

  • If selected, you will be required to post 1 video on Instagram and any other platform where you are publicly active. That’s it, just one great video that shows off your pub crew and what makes your local special.

  • The Local Voices programme is dedicated to fostering inclusive, respectful, and positive storytelling that celebrates the community spirit of local pubs. All applicants must follow these Community Guidelines. Applications or posts that do not comply with the guidelines will not be considered or paid, even if the original pitch was approved.
